Our Story

Neurodivergent Nuts started from a simple dream: to help our underserved neurodiverse community. Alongside this came another dream: to deliver a good quality snack to all the folks at home. These two ideals combined into one delicious blend; a company that, in cooperation with NeuroDev and its wonderful students, provides opportunities to neurodiverse teens and adults who are not otherwise served by our world today. Together, we help them learn all the skills they need for success in today’s world. We plan, make, pack, and ship the nuts as a team, with every part of the process a learning opportunity. Even this passage was written by one of our students! Together we work to help each other learn and grow. And we help you too - by giving you this delicious snack. Everyone loves a good nut, and we hope you’ll love ours.

Max Popick

I am from NYC. Because of Neurodivergent Nuts, I am learning how to let go of control and delegate to others. I really like to make sure everything is done correctly and efficiently but working here has helped me give tasks to other people. I am really successful when it comes to math and numbers. I manage the bookkeeping side of the company. I am also working on the back end of our website. Outside of work, I enjoy reading fiction and fantasy books. My favorite nuts are almonds. I highly recommend them.

I am from Celebration, Florida (one of the coolest towns ever, look it up)! I appreciate having this opportunity to work with Neurodivergent Nuts because I really struggle with staying motivated; however, I can proudly say I haven't had that problem working for this company. My work ethic has been improving over time while working here. I work as the boxing and shipping manager, which means I’m in charge of making sure all orders are correct and get to their destination. My favorite flavor is sweet amber. What makes me a good employee is that I work really well in small groups and I am really confident in my communication skills. My favorite thing to do outside of work is playing video games with my friends across the world.

I am from California. My favorite hobbies are riding bikes, especially mountain biking, and driving cars. My favorite video game is Forza Horizon 5. I cook the nuts for Neurodivergent Nuts. I love the roasting process. My favorite flavor is mint. I really struggle with ADHD and Neurodivergent Nuts helps me focus and get tasks done. When I have work to do I thrive in a busy environment. Working for this company helps me overcome stress.

I am from Pocatello, Idaho. I tend to struggle with communicating with others; sometimes I keep how I feel inside. Working for Neurodivergent Nuts has helped me find my voice and has helped me understand the importance of collaboration. I pride myself on having a great work ethic, which is why I love working for this company. One of my skills is being meticulous. This helps me be a key component of the shipping department of our company. I ensure that everything going out and being shipped is done correctly. My favorite hobby is playing Deltarune or Undertale.

I am from Pennsylvania. Working for Neurodivergent Nuts has totally helped me come out of my shell. One of my biggest challenges is being shy with new people. I have a hard time in social settings and get social anxiety. This work environment helps me have more confidence and interact with my peers. I am responsible for packaging and shipping. This is a great role for me because I am skilled with things like paying attention to details. I can also retain information really quickly! I know that with my skills we will be able to pack and ship our product very quickly! My favorite hobbies include drawing, Elder Scrolls, and reading. My favorite nuts are almonds.

I am from Abilene, Texas! I really struggle in social situations; working for Neurodivergent Nuts has helped me start to overcome this. With this company and NeuroDev mentoring, I've been tasked with the challenge of cooking meals as well as roasting nuts. I have enjoyed getting to learn this. This skill is helping me move to independence. I bring cool creative ideas to this company. My favorite flavor is sweet amber. I have been working on the media and website part of the company. Specifically, the page you are reading now! One fun fact about me is that I love the video game Risk of Rain 2.

I am from the amazing city of Tallahassee, Florida. I struggle with social cues and taking jokes. Any social cue is difficult for me. Working with Neurodivergent Nuts has helped me collaborate and understand people's tones and interpretations of my comments. I have been able to learn how to act around others because of the company team environment. I am working towards my independence. And Neurodivergent Nuts has helped me get a job and build my resume. I am really good at socializing and this is why I work as a member of the social media team. I take pictures and create reels to spread awareness of the good things that are happening here. My favorite flavor is the hot cocoa peppermint. Something you should know about me: I am a professional at competitive Super Smash Brothers and competitive Pokémon. I have won many tournaments for Pokémon and am working on winning some for Smash. My favorite video game is Terraria.

I was born and raised in Northern England. I struggle with my executive functioning, like time management and remembering the basic things day to day. I also really struggle with having self-confidence. Working for Neurodivergent Nuts has helped me gain confidence in myself and what I am able to produce and create. It has given me something to be proud of and I take so much pride in my role. I am the manager of the roasting and packing department of Neuro Nuts. One reason I am good at my job is because I never give up. My favorite flavor is sweet amber pecans. Along with working for Neurodivergent Nuts, I am also working on completing my first year of college and finding new hobbies to enjoy. Currently, I am trying out rappelling and I am really loving that.

I am from River Forest, IL. Moving to Utah has been a huge change that at first I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy. I really like it so far. My favorite hobby is either listening to music or playing Dragonfable. One reason why I moved here is because I struggle with social interaction. I have a hard time getting the thoughts out of my head. This makes it hard for me to have conversations. Something I have been working on is keeping up with my assignments and getting them turned in on time. Something I do really well is anything regarding music. I can sing, play piano, and occasionally compose music. I am also really good at math. With Neurodivergent Nuts I am excited to be challenged in a social setting. With my skills in math, I have decided to help with bookkeeping and accounting. My favorite flavor is sweet amber pecans.

I am from Fairfax, Virginia. I just moved here to Utah and I jumped right into creating Neurodivergent Nuts. I really love to write, cook, and go on hikes. With my struggle with attention, socialization, and sensory stimulation being a part of Neurodivergent Nuts has shown me I can have a purpose. I am proud of who I am and am confident in my self-worth. I am really good at taking in large amounts of data and remembering it. This makes me a valuable employee for Neuro Nuts. I have so far written the home page, and have been collaborating on the blog portion of the website. I am a member of the marketing team and look forward to creating more.
